About
I was born in Charlotte and raised in a town called Harrisburg, right on the outskirts of Charlotte and Concord. The town was mostly white when I was growing up, which caused some trouble for me has a black American. But I made it through, and my experiences shaped me into the person I am today. Throughout middle school and high school I was very interested in band, theatre and art. When I reached college, I gained an appreciation for anthropology, the study of humans, and a growing interest in humanitarian work and global studies.
Throughout my studies and current political events, I realized how important journalists are to getting and spreading information, and how what journalists outline our history. I chose my beat to be environmental justice because I believe that now more than ever, we must pay attention to the environment and the impact of climate change and global warming. I hope that my writing contributes to an accurate depiction of events and to bring attention to stories that matter.
